X-ray tomography and 3D visualizations – interactive application for exploring a monitor lizard mummy

IMA Solutions performed the X-ray tomography acquisition of a monitor lizard mummy, as well as the 3D exploration and manipulation application.

These acquisitions were then processed to transform the DICOM slices into 3D models, allowing for both external and internal visualization of the mummy after data segmentation.

This interactive exploration application allows for virtual unwrapping of the mummy, offering the possibility of removing layers one by one (removing the wrappings, exploring the textiles, exploring the remaining muscle tissue, mummification techniques, etc.) until reaching the skeleton.
