Exhibition “ancient lives” : 3D digitization and exploration of mummies

IMA Solutions worked for one year with the British Museum’s Egypt & Sudan department team to make the 3D interactive visualizations of the “Egyptian Mummies: Exploring Ancient Lives” exhibition opening the 10 of December 2016 until the 27 of April 2017 at Powerhouse Museum of Sydney.

Visitors will be able to explore in 3D six Egyptian mummies from the British Museum collection to discover life, death and burial practices in Ancient Egypt.

Thanks to new technologies like 3D computer tomography, 3D scanning, 3D printing and high performance computing, IMA Solutions was able to provide to the British Museum unprecedented accurate 3D visualizations to study and explore these six Egyptian Mummies in a non invasive way.
