FACsimile of a Moaï statue for the Exhibition “île de pâques”

3D high definition 3D scanning of the British Museum’s Moai Hoa Hakananai’a on site in London to make the size to size replica for the exhibition “Île de Pâques : le nombril du monde“ of the Museum of Toulouse.

Collected during the HMS Topaze expedition to Rapa Nui (captained by Powell) in 1868 and presented to Queen Victoria by the Lords of the Admiralty. She then gifted it to the British Museum in 1869.

The original is visible in the Wellcome Room of the British Museum.
